FORMULA SAE®

The SAE International Formula SAE® program is an engineering design competition for undergraduate and graduate students. The competition provides participants with the opportunity to enhance their engineering design and project management skills by applying learned classroom theories in a challenging competition. The engineering design goal for teams is to develop and construct a single-seat racecar for the non-professional weekend autocross racer with the best overall package of design, construction, performance and cost.
Formula SAE® Michigan, which the AAMU Motorsports team has successfully registered for, is held in May every year with an estimated 120 teams from around the world.
This Formula SAE® project is an engaging tool that educates students in design and manufacturing methods, as well as the business and marketing practices required in the field of engineering.

ABOUT US

AAMU Motorsports is the official Formula SAE Racing Team from Alabama A&M University. We are excited to attend Formula SAE® Michigan as the only Historically Black College & University (HBCU) in Alabama to compete.

This is truly a student competition, as each team is managed by students who perform all the research and manufacturing of their respective car. Teams are expected to demonstrate all their engineering aptitude while following the strict regulations of the competition and our team is favorited to make the most improvements as we engage in enterprises that will prepare our engineering students for their careers after college.
